Nightstand Studios Progress Blog 8

It has been a month since my last post. One would hope that great progress has been made since then. Well YES it has, and we are getting close to opening day. If PSE&G brings us our new power in the next week, we should be ready for our Oct 1 opening. Floors are being installed, as well as painting, ceilings, and lights are near completion. Furniture will start arriving next week! We will be in production before we know it. More pics to follow.

Nightstand Progress Blog 7 Quiet Rock

Exciting to come into the building today as two studios, along with the green rooms and office areas have all been sheetrocked. Today Quiet Rock has been installed in 2 of our 4 studios, with Studio C and the recording studio to commence tomorrow.

Nightstand Studio Progress Blog 6

After a couple weeks of precision work that was not quite that demonstrative of progress, we are ready for the big push of insulation and drywalling and finally closing in the working spaces. HVAC interior work is done, the rough plumbing and electric is done, and the truckload of soundproofing insulation has been delivered. Insulation to commence tomorrow, and drywall to commence on Monday!
Pretty soon, lights, camera, action!

The initial framing is officially over and the HVAC is starting to be installed. We have settled on a phone provider and are now finalizing the equipment lease for the lighting grid and the recording studio.

Well , we are almost done with the framing work. Some big steel coming in on Tuesday. We sign our contracts with our alarm and surveillance company, with our internal phone/communication being our sole outstanding company to still hire.

Progress, progress, progress!!
Framing is well underway for the two multipurpose studios. See below, studio A, our 38x38x14 studio, and Studio B our 32x65x19 studio and scoring stage.

Framing is now underway. It is a relief after all this time (nearly 9 months) to finally be walking through skeletal hallways and spaces that will become studios before we know it. How exciting, relieving, and terrifying all at once. The closer it gets the more work you realize you still have ahead of you to bring a dream to reality.
Tomorrow I'll post some pics of the future entryway and Studio A space.

Hello everyone. I've taken some time off from blogging, spending time being a principal, dad, husband, and pursuing the insanity of GCing the build of Nightstand Studios. Several people have asked for an account of the build process. What is to follow in the next couple months will be just that - a behind the scenes look at our building the future home of Nightstand Studios.
